Who We Are

B Dawson, after spending her childhood as the neighborhood Dr. Dolittle, grew up to become a biologist and animal herbalist.  Her first herbal apprenticeship in 1992 lead to a meeting with Juliette de Bairacli Levy, the world renowned herbalist and pioneer of holistic veterinary medicine. Drawn together by their love of Afghan hounds, Juliette introduced to her age–old herbal knowledge gathered from Gypsies, Bedouins and peasant
people from around the world.

B currently runs Noah’s Apothecary, a small herbal practice and natural pet supply shoppe in Ojai, California, where she lives with her husband, her Afghan hounds and assorted cats.  Continuing to study and research herbal topics and animal nutrition, B seeks to balance old wisdom with current research to achieve the best possible blend of knowledge for her furry clients. 

She gives lectures and workshops throughout the US, is a contributing author to Rodale Books and is working on her first book, Two Roots and Call Me in the Morning.
